The Freetown Police Department supports college students with a voluntary Student Internship Program.
The program provides undergraduate and graduate students who are considering a career in the law enforcement field with a structured program which will enable the student to acquire skills and knowledge useful for employment in a criminal justice agency, while providing services of benefit to the Town.
The Student Intern Program is open to any and all regional, accredited institutions of higher learning, and coordinated through the Chief of Police or his/her designee.
Students desiring to perform intern duties with the Department shall have their college or university professor or department head write a letter of recommendation and forward it to the Freetown Police Department requesting the named student be considered for internship program.
