The Freetown Police Department has established temporary traffic and parking restrictions in the Assonet Village for the fireworks and parade.
The restrictions are necessary to ensure passage of emergency vehicles and to maintain the orderly flow of traffic. The restrictions will be in effect from 6 pm – 11-45 pm on Tuesday, July 3rd for the fireworks event, and from 9:30 am til 12 noon on Wednesday, July 4th for the parade.
Vehicles parked in posted “no parking” areas, will be tagged and towed if necessary. If, in the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, the restrictions will be applied to the dates and times that the events are rescheduled.

Fireworks
Tuesday, July 3rd at 9:45 PM- at Hathaway Park on Water Street in Assonet.
At 6:00 PM the following traffic pattern will be implemented:
Elm St.: One way east from Mill St. to Walnut St.
Mill St (Rt. 79): One way south from Walnut St. to Elm St.
North Main St.: One way north from Assonet Center to Pleasant St.
Pleasant St.: Closed to all traffic @ 6:00 PM
Walnut St.: One-way north from Elm St. to Richmond Rd.
Water St. Closed to all traffic @ 6:00 PM
Parade
Wednesday, July 4th at 10:00 AM – South Main Street
Parade Route: Beginning at Copicut Road and proceeding north along South Main Street, left onto Water Street, and concluding at Hathaway Park.
Line-up begins at 9:00 AM on Copicut Road
Parade begins at 10:00 AM
