On Monday, March 18, 2019, Freetown police officers executed a search warrant at an East Freetown home where they seized a stolen flat screen television and arrested the person allegedly responsible for its theft.
Police were informed by a delivery service that it had delivered two televisions into the possession of a male residing at the home. One of the televisions was delivered by mistake. The delivery service contacted police after several unsuccessful attempts to recover the television. Police then visited the residence where they spoke with the male in an effort to recover the television. Unfortunately, he refused to cooperate.
Police then obtained a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for the male. During their search, police found the television mounted to a living room wall. The television was described as an 86 inch 4K HDR Smart LED TV. Due to the size of the television, police utilized a pickup truck to transport it to the police station.
Police identified the male they arrested as Nicholas A. Memmo, age 35, 13 Rounsevell Drive. He was charged him with the following offenses:
Larceny Over $1,200 by False Pretense
Misleading a Police Officer
Memmo was arraigned today at the Fall River District Court.
