FREETOWN, MA – On Friday, September 22, 2023 at approximately 1:30PM, Freetown officers conducted a routine patrol on Chace Road in East Freetown, where they observed an individual walking on the property of 92 Chace Road. The individual was identified as BRANDON DEMORANVILLE, a 37-year-old resident of 122 Chace Road in East Freetown. A subsequent warrant check revealed the existence of five active warrants for DEMORANVILLE’s arrest.
Of particular note, one of these warrants pertained to a felony charge stemming from DEMORANVILLE’s prior arrest on October 20, 2022, by our department. That arrest was related to alleged offenses of breaking & entering and larceny from a building. DEMORANVILLE having been released on bail, is alleged to have failed to appear before the court as scheduled.
Upon returning to 92 Chace Road, DEMORANVILLE fled from officers on foot. A perimeter was established by Freetown officers and mutual aid was sought from the Raynham Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police, including K9 and the Airwing.
Due to the large police presence, a community advisory was issued on our website and via our social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District was also advised of the police activity in the area.
It is essential to clarify that the search for DEMORANVILLE is entirely unrelated to the prior crime scene and murder investigation conducted by the Freetown Police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office on September 20, 2023, at 92 Chace Road.
After a lengthy search, and despite the best efforts of Freetown officers and our mutual aid partners, DEMORANVILLE was unable to be located. Subsequently, all assets were released from the scene.
If DEMORANVILLE is spotted, please contact the Freetown Police Department at (508) 763-4017 so that he may be arrested and transported to the Fall River District Court. The alleged offenses prompting the issuance of the warrants are non-violent in nature. There is no perceived danger to the public at this time.
